A striking example of mid-century modern architecture, Rose Seidler House brings warmth and elegance to any space it inspires. Designed by celebrated architect Harry Seidler, the house was constructed between 1948 and 1950 by Bret R. Lake and is now a heritage-listed house museum at 69–71 Clissold Road, Wahroonga, in the Ku-ring-gai area of Sydney. I am lucky to live close by to this beautiful home and have visited it often.
Commissioned by Seidler’s parents, Rose and Max Seidler, the house is named for Rose, who played a pivotal role in its creation and made all major client decisions. This iconic home, part of a precinct that includes the Marcus Seidler and Teplitzky houses, is owned by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage and has been on the New South Wales State Heritage Register since April 2, 1999.
